Russia’s Golden Ring Photo Collection
This photo collection is part of the Oleg Klimov Photo Archive and brings together documentary photographs from towns and villages of Russia’s Golden Ring — one of the symbolic historical regions of European Russia.
The photographs show religious processions, churches, cemeteries, monuments, provincial streets, rivers, old houses, public rituals and everyday landscapes where history, faith and ordinary life continue to overlap.
For Oleg Klimov, the Golden Ring is not only a tourist route or a preserved image of old Russia. It is also a living landscape of memory, decline, belief, repetition and survival. These photographs look at places where official history, private life and contemporary Russia meet in quiet, sometimes contradictory ways.
The collection includes photographs from long-term journeys through the region, with captions, dates, locations and contextual information. Public viewing is available online. High-resolution files are not available for direct public download, but access can be requested for editorial, research, exhibition or publishing purposes.
